We loved our stay at this hotel in the Lake District. The room was beautifully decorated and super clean. The bed was divinely comfortable. The staff were lovely and the food (we had dinner and breakfast there) was delicious. We would choose to stay in one of these hotels again.

Our go to lunch stop off when heading to Scotland. Drive past the service station up to the hotel for a quiet (no crowds), sit down meal with great views. I had haddock, chips, mushy peas with tartar sauce, the family had: pie of the day (turkey, ham & leek), chips & cabbage; salt beef sandwich; and falafel sandwich. Very nice. Expect to pay restaurant prices, but worth it.

The hotel itself was good but the evening meal was very disappointing and the breakfast only slightly better. The issue is not the quality but the value for money and the presentation. The evening meal would be great if you wanted to take a …

Superb hotel. Warm room in -7 deg c Cumbria . Lovely breakfast although I do not get the serving a tomato instead of beans with the breakfast. It’s a fruit ! That is almost a crime !Service a bit slow at brekkie but really a great place to stay if heading north or south overnight . Ideal location and spotless interior decor .

I stayed here for 1 night enroute back from Scotland. Arrived just before the restaurant closed and the very attentive staff managed to find me a table for a 2 course meal and a beer. Lovely setting, lovely lounge to sit and read a book and a well appointed room. Excellent veggie breakfast and I was on my way. Great location, great facilities. Highly recommended
Food & drinks: Excellent menu choices.

Stop over enroute to Scotland. Great hotel. Great value. The rooms had recently been refurbished. The lounge with log fire was lovely. The restaurant was very good. Food superb. Breakfast was varied and plenty full with great service

We stopped on our way south. Friends had recommended the hotel and we had previously only paid a visit to the farm shop. ||The room was very comfortable with comfy beds and warm duvets. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant with attentive staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We had a lovely stay in a crafted double room. Lovely comfy bed and stunning view from the window. The bar area in the hotel was very nice with an open fire and I loved the Tirril draft beer…please keep that on for when I return! The young lad serving in the bar was very good too.

Not your usual hotel at a services, really nice and away from the services so no vehicle noise.
The room was clean and adequate for our needs.
Bathroom - no extractor fan so mirror steamed up and stayed steamed and this accounts for the blackening around the shower.
Mum wasn't impressed with the 'hum' that was a constant throughout our stay,(rm41) and very little soundproofing between rooms as our neighbours were slightly inconsiderate with banging doors and an alarm that apparently didn't wake them 3 times but I could hear.
The breakfast was lovely though with great views over the little stream out the back
